I am Pauwel and I live in Groningen. I am a big fan of sports. I love sports because it gives people the opportunity to show their true selves. Sadly enough this is changing, because performance and reaching goals has become so important that people are getting scared to show their epic failures or just general weaknesses. This look on life is fueled by all these picture perfect fitgirls and fitboys who are all over instagram nowadays. Saying you can do anything with hard work and bla bla.

While these images may inspire some people, it is also giving the false idea that you have to be in shape to enjoy sports and I feel people are watching from the sidelines because they’re comparing themselves with these so called role models.

This makes me sad because sport can get people together and it can make the serious things in life much easier to swallow. So please start dancing off beat, get thrown off your horse, miss an open lay up, get dropped of a groupride and do it with a smile on your face. Sport is fun don’t take it seriously.
